Edwards had the nerve to say yes they will raise taxes, however, it will not effect 98% of all people and will not effect 99% of all businesses. The liar knows that is not true. The top 20% of wage earners pay 80% of all taxes and in that top 20% is married couples making 80K, a teacher and fireman in NY city are the rich to these phoneys.

Raise taxes? as in repeal the Bush tax cu .. err advance on our SS funds so that billionaires can further prosper?

Sounds sensible to me, but I could be rusty - it's been nearly 4 years since there was any inkling of fiscal responsibily in the WH.

Lander,

For once admit Edwards is lying, when he raises taxes it will be on teachers, firemen, nurses, or anyone that basically earns over $40K. This con man needs to be called on this.

Again, it will essentially stop the advance on our SS.

I, for one, would like to know that given the rare chance that I am not independently wealthy that I will have SS to help cover my retirement needs (medicine, food - silly stuff like that).

I'm sorry that the <1% of billionaires may slip slightly in the all-so-important fortune 500 rankings, but the rest of America (ok, rest of America that isn't brain dead like you two schucks) will appreciate the fiscal responsibility set forth by Sen (soon to be VP) Edwards.

btw - we jumped from 80K down to 40k with your ficticious claims. Please, there are future Republicans reading - so learn to lie consistantly for the GOP's sake.

Lander,

I said a married couple that earn $80K are taxed as the rich.

I believe they say you're rich as a single person around $43K. The point is if Kerry was to raise taxes it would not be just on the so-called rich it would be on teachers, firemen, and nurses which are not what most would consider to be rich. Sure if you have nothing a firemans salary is the rich to that person with nothing.

If you want to learn something for a change go to the IRS website, that's were I come up with the numbers.

We note with interest that in the cited interview, Edwards said that he and Kerry would 'raise taxes', and then specified that it would not affect over 98% of the population.

Then GAMEFACE tells us he knows Edwards is lying because he (GAMEFACE) KNOWS it will be directed at the middle income population.

I'll stick with Edwards straight out statement that taxes will be raised, but only on the top 1-2% of earners.

Oh, as noted in my comment above, correct English in GF's lead post would be A-ffect, not E-ffect. Don't take it personally, it's one of most common errors in the language.
